Sharon Rich, Gainesville, GA

Sharon has been a volunteer for BVL for many years; however, her fellow association members credit her with being a creative thinker.

Following her recent success with the creation of a Turkey Tournament, which raised several thousand dollars, she followed up on an idea from Dee Braun, President of the Georgia State USBC WBA. Sharon organized a “Vote for Your Favorite Sumo Wrestler” campaign featuring Sharon, Dee and Association Manager Betty Jean Anderson. This fun campaign encouraged voters to make a contribution to BVL. Each even had their own campaign managers – Vickie Rawlins, Jo Ann Brassell and Sharra Culver. At the Georgia State Meeting, the association recognized the ladies for their work, and the results were tallied. Betty Jean’s campaign collected $216.13, Dee’s campaign netted $2033.25, and Sharon’s was the winner with $3303.00!
