The Bowlers to Veterans Link Logo

The Bowlers to Veterans Link is bowling’s oldest and most successful charity, but your help is required to continue our mission. Our young men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan need BVL programs to boost their spirits and brighten their days. We must continue to care for our Vietnam and Korean War vets. And, we will not forget our aging WWII veterans who benefit from the smiles and joy brought by so many BVL activities. BVL makes a difference, but we can’t do it without you!

Begin by educating your audience about BVL and the need to support those who have served our country. The sport of bowling made a promise to our troops back in 1941: We will remember the sacrifices of those who have gone into harm’s way to preserve America’s freedoms.

  • Order Fundraising materials!
  • Dedicate a week or a month for a BVL fund-raising drive. Show the BVL DVD and talk with your audience about the importance of our programs. (A sample presentation is included in the kit.)
  • Distribute BVL materials at meetings and encourage all attendees to join the effort to support America’s service men and women. (A supply of posters are included in the kit.)
  • Coordinate a tournament or special event as part of your fund-raising drive. (Our Volunteer Manual has dozens of creative ideas to help create enthusiasm and support for the cause.)
  • Survey your leagues, center employees and community friends to create a salute to all veterans in your area. Dedicate a bulletin board in the center for photos and notes about “Heroes in Our Midst.” Organize a fund-raising function in their honor to support BVL.
  • Encourage participation in “Operation: Honor Force” to send a thank you to a veteran for serving our country.
  • Rally community support by coordinating a “Bowlers Salute America’s Troops” drive and send a portable carpet bowling lane to our troops overseas!
  • Make your BVL campaign the best it can be! Develop a publicity effort to help spread the word, using BVL videos and suggested press releases.
  • Make a personal contribution!
