Dynamic Broadway-style performances of one of America's
Premier Road Shows Entertains Veterans

photo: Re-Creation 30Brightening the days and boosting the spirits of veterans has been the job of the touring entertainment group "Re-Creation" for over 25 years. BVL leaders who've attended these lively and professional performances at the VA Medical Centers know the wonderful effect the show has on the audience.

"The Re-Creation show is really something special," explains Pat Buckner of Apple Valley (Virginia) WBA. "I wouldn't miss it. Once you see how much the veterans appreciate and enjoy the singing and dancing, you know that our money is being well spent."

In Ohio, State BVL Chairman Katy Schwinn figured out a way to do just that. Recently, Katy arranged to have "Re-Creation" perform for their state delegates.

"What an experience!" recalls Katy. "Re-Creation sang and danced into the hearts of the delegates. At times, we were dancing in the aisles, saluting our veterans through the patriotic songs or singing and swaying to the Big Band era music. The delegates were captured by the message and outstanding talent of these young performers."

Through this performance, Katy achieved two important objectives: first, she entertained her delegates with a delightful hour of song and dance, and second, she was able to clearly illustrate the magic these performers make for our veterans. Katy was able to create dozens of believers in the "Re-Creation" program. Now, many of the Ohio BVL volunteers and contributors truly understand the importance of the BVL efforts.
